LSU – Limited SafeAir User

During this course you will gain basic knowledge and experience, with which you will be able to safely perform dives with SafeAir 32% and 36% breathing mixtures. This is an entry-level course for all further courses for diving with oxygen-enriched breathing mixtures. During the course you will get to know the advantages brought about by breathing Oxygen enriched Air and the limitations we must consider, when breathing such mixtures. You will also get to know specified equipment for blending, analyzing and marking and labeling equipment for using Oxygen enriched Air/SafeAir.

 

Theoretical knowledge:

  • History and evolution of SafeAir
  • SafeAir effects on human body
  • Mathematical basics
  • The Equivalent Air Depth (EAD) formula
  • The depth limit formula (MOD–Maximum Operating Depth)
  • Signs and symptoms of CNS toxicity (CNS–Central Nervous System)
  • Diving equipment modifications
  • Proper marking and labeling of SafeAir equipment

 

Practical exercises:

  • Breathing gas analysis
  • Dive planning
  • Two open water dives using SafeAir (1x 32%, 1x 36%)

 

Course duration:

2 days

  • Theory: 4-6 hours
  • Open water exercises and dives: 3-4 hours

 

Candidate prerequisites:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • At least five (5) logged dives at entry level (OWD certificate or equivalent)
  • Completed medical statement (or a medical certificate not older than one year)
  • Completed liability release and assumption of risk form

Included in the price:

  • ANDI text Introduction to Enriched-Air Diving, ANDI Adria decal, diploma and certification card, two (2) cylinder re-fills with SafeAir (32% and 36%)

Not included in the price:

  • Transport to locations, equipment rental, ANDI SafeAir tables

 

 

 

You can attend the LSU course as a part of the Open Water Diver course. The depth limit of the CSU certificate is 30m or depending on the used breathing mixture (32% or 36%). SafeAir dives/practical part of the course can be performed at any time within one year from the beginning of the course. It is recommended that both certification dives be performed on the same day. Enrolment is only accepted after prepayment/deposit. In the case of unauthorized absence from the course, there is no return of the deposit.
