OWI – Openwater Instructor

During this course you will learn to independently prepare, conduct courses and evaluate candidates for open water certification. During the course you gain additional knowledge of teaching methods and conducting theory and practical sessions. We will present practical and legal aspects of divers’ training and emphasise the importance of good documentation-keeping, adhering to the ethical code and successful marketing.

 

Theoretical knowledge:

Practical exercises:

  • Presenting trouble-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Presenting skills in open water and confined environment

 

Course duration:

4-5 days

  • Theory: 20 hours
  • Confined environment exercises: 6-8 hours
  • Open water exercises and dives: 6-8 hours

 

Candidate prerequisites:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • ASI and LSU certificates or equivalent
  • At least 100 logged dives, including at least 30 in poorer conditions
  • Current CPR, OXP, FAP certificates (within the last two years)
  • Must own a complete diving system
  • Completed medical statement (or a medical certificate not older than one year)
  • Completed liability release and assumption of risk form

Enrolment is only accepted after prepayment/deposit. In the case of unauthorized absence from the course, there is no return of the deposit.
